OT-2 Warranty: The OT-2 has been rigorously stress-tested to last more than 3 years of full-time operation. If anything on the robot (including pipettes & all Opentrons hardware) breaks from normal wear and tear within 1 year of its arrival at your lab, we'll replace it for free. Requests beyond this period will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Belts and seals, which rarely fail within the first three years of full-time use, are the most common reason for breakage.

Risk-free return policy: Try out the OT-2 in your lab for 60 days, 100% risk free:

If your lab doesn't like the OT-2 for any reason, we offer a full refund. You'll have 60 days to try out the robot in your lab, after which return requests are no longer valid. The 60 day return period begins when your robot arrives at your lab, and covers the full amount of your order (i.e. the amount found on your PO, credit card or pro-forma invoice), including shipping costs.

To be eligible for a return, your item(s):
-Must be undamaged and in the same condition that you received it.
-Free of contamination
-It must be in the original packaging so please keep all packing materials

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item(s). We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, per the policies above, then your refund will be processed and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment within 10 business days. Our support team will send you a pre-paid shipping label.

Regarding late or missing refunds (if applicable):
If you haven’t received your refund within 2 weeks, please first double-check your account.
Next, contact your credit card company or your bank, as it may take some time before your refund is officially processed or posted.
If you’ve done this and you still have not received your refund, please contact us at support@opentrons.com.

Exchanges Under Warranty:
We only replace items if they are damaged during shipment, or are defective.
If you need to exchange an item for the same item, send us an email at support@opentrons.com and our support team will reach out with further instructions.
