The HeatDeck is a hardware module that fits on the deck of your Opentrons robot. At default temperature, it applies heating at 55 degrees Celsius, but is customizable up to 65 degrees Celsius.
How to use
To get started, all you have to do to power on the Heat Deck is connect the power supply to both the back of the module and a power outlet.
How to customize the Heat Deck
The Heat Deck runs off the open source platform Arduino, which is how you can control its temperature. Our heat decks come automatically set to reach a temperature of 55 degrees Celsius, but you can edit this value by editing the Arduino file. Note: Do not set above 65 degrees Celsius or you risk damaging the module.
Find our Heat Deck source code on GitHub here and download.
Also, download and install the Arduino IDE.
Open the file, and you will see detailed instruction for how to update the temperature. The overview is that you simply set the number for what temperature you want, then upload that code to the Heat Deck.
Connect your heat deck to your computer via AB cable same as which you connect your robot to your computer.
