Unless you are using an OT-2R, you must use a USB cable first to connect to your OT-2. An A/B USB cable is included with your OT-2 order.

If you are using an OT-2R, you can connect via direct Ethernet connection by following the instructions in this article for the OT-2R. Note that direct Ethernet connection is only fully supported for the OT-2R.

To proceed with connecting your OT-2 for the first time over USB, continue reading.

Materials Needed:

  • Computer with supported operating system

  • OT-2 app

  • A/B USB cable

Procedure:

1. To connect the robot via USB, plug the A/B USB cable into the A/B USB port. Wait a few seconds for your computer to establish the connection before opening the OT-2 App.

2. The app searches for robots automatically. The available robots will show up under Robots. To connect, toggle the switch next to your OT-2's name. Sometimes you might need to try a few times before the robot establishes connection with the app.

3. When OT-2 is successfully connected, the toggle button will turn blue.

Once this connection is established, you can then connect over wifi. 📡
