What is PM?

Preventative maintenance (PM) refers to the routine cleaning, monitoring, repairs, and timely replacement of components that show signs of failure for your Opentrons equipment. These activities should be performed and recorded in the PM document.

What is the purpose of PM?

The purpose of performing PM is to routinely ensure that core components of your Opentrons equipment, including your OT-2, pipettes, and modules, are functioning optimally. By performing PM proactively on a regular schedule, you can help prolong the lifespan of your Opentrons equipment.

When should PM be performed?

Refer to the PM document for suggested guidelines based on usage. Note that all OT-2 operators are able to perform these maintenance activities as needed.
