The OT-2 has been rigorously stress-tested to last for more than 3 years of full-time operation. If anything on the robot (including pipettes & all Opentrons modules) breaks from normal wear and tear within 1 year of its arrival at your lab, we'll replace it for free. After 1 year, we will no longer replace hardware unless you purchase a technical support + warranty extension. For more details on our support contract plans, please click here.

Who is covered by the Warranty?
Opentrons warranty covers the original purchaser of Opentrons products. The warranty is non-transferable and only extends to the original purchaser.
What is covered by the Warranty?
Opentrons warranty applies to new Opentrons products (OT-2, OT-2 Pipettes, Temperature Module, Magnetic Module, Thermocycler Module) sold by Opentrons Labworks, headquartered at 20 Jay St, Suite 528, Brooklyn, NY 11201 or by authorized resellers. Opentrons warrants to the end-user of the products that they will be free of manufacturing defects due to part quality issues or poor workmanship and also warrants that the products will materially conform to Opentrons’ published specifications.
What is the period of coverage?
The period of coverage starts the day the products are delivered and lasts for 12 months. In the event that your product needs to be replaced, your warranty period will start from the date of delivery of your replacement and will last 12 months from that date.
What is not covered by the Warranty?
This Warranty does not cover damage as a result of accidents, misuse, abuse or neglect.
How will Opentrons remedy my claim?
During the warranty period, Opentrons, at its discretion, will either repair, replace or provide a refund for the defective or non conforming parts. Opentrons will bear the cost of labor, parts and shipping.
What am I responsible for?
If you discover a defect or believe your product is not functioning to our published specifications during the period of coverage, please contact Opentrons Customer Support through our webpage (www.opentrons.com), our Run App software, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Our Customer Support team will work with you and determine the best remedy for your situation. In some cases Opentrons may determine that a return is necessary to provide a replacement or refund. In those cases, you will be asked to print out a prepaid return label, prepare the product for return and ship the product to Opentrons.
How much does Opentrons warranty cost?
Opentrons warranty is complementary and included with the order of any Opentrons products covered by the warranty (see above “What is covered by the warranty?”).
Does Opentrons offer extended warranties? If so, what is the cost of an extended warranty?
