Overview
Follow these steps to upgrade your robot to be able to power your new MagDeck module!
Upgrading your robot
Step 1: Remove the following screws from the motor controller box with the provided Allen key to access your board.
Step 2: Remove front panel of motor controller box
Step 3: Disconnect power supply
Step 4: Use a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen the fastening screw on the green power connector to remove the red power wire
Step 5: Twist both power wires together
Step 6: Place red cables back into connector and repeat for black ground wire
Step 7: Plug power connector back into board
Step 8: Plug the yellow control cable into the board
Step 9: Power on the MagDeck before reassembling the motor controller box
When connected to a powered robot your MagDeck will oscillate one cycle and return to its home position.
To control the oscillation cycles connect to the Opentrons App and load a Python protocol which includes the module in the script.
